EmblemHealth is proud to release an educational video on the state of mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) in 2023, joining in the effort to raise public awareness about the ongoing threat and to help prevent another outbreak. Through this video, we are ensuring that our members, patients, and employees have the up-to-date information they need to keep themselves and their communities safe this summer as we celebrate Pride Month and enjoy more gatherings.

In this video (12:14), Prism* Lead Greg Rider, Director, Corporate Compliance, EmblemHealth, leads a discussion with Dr. Lama El Zein, Sr. Medical Director, Population Health & Clinician Engagement, EmblemHealth, who covers several mpox topics, some of which include:

  • Prevention strategies.
  • The importance of getting both doses of the vaccine.
  • Which communities have been the most impacted and remain at higher risk.
  • What to know about treatment.

New York City Council Member Erik Bottcher also gives words of support and urges eligible individuals to get vaccinated.
